In and out of traffic
you weave.

looked green.

Collision.

Hit Driver side.
innocent man.
He died.
because of your sin.
its multiplied.

Critical.

Your lifes in jeopardy.
in order to live.
need heart surgery.
but doctors can't.
you require
a transplant.
current heart is death.

Innocent.

His father stares.
his dead sons heart
signed into your care.
so you can live...
but you don't dare.

Cooler

The nurse holds tight.
Your future heart.
Now in sight.
your sins killed a man.
his death gives you life.

Energy.

Every ounce stored

We are by nature enemies of God who reject the gift of the father even though it's the most kind thing one can do.

Your sins caused the murder of Christ. His death is the only thing that can save you. You need a new heart and the only match is that of Christ which God the father has signed over.

In order to receive it you must humble yourself and repent and trust in Christ who died for wicked men and rose again defeating death.

Don't reject the gift of the father. It's an insult of the highest degree...

Humble yourself and beg God to give you a new heart or you will be punished by the Judge whose son you murdered.

Preaching Truth to Postmoderns

Last friday night while preaching the gospel Charlottesville, VA I had one of my favorite hecklers return to me.

This is the second time in three weeks I have preached the Gospel in the downtown mall in Charlottesville. This is the second time she has showed up.

Her name is Ryan. She's in eighth grade.

Ryan is the typical middle school girl. She is in love with her own ideas, her own view of the world and she is above anything else incredibly postmodern.

She has the idea that if God is true, then he would be ALL-loving. ALL-forgiving and willing to accept anyone from all faiths. Afterall she is incredibly post-modern.

She really doesn't like us preaching. She hates it. Every time we preach Ryan runs to the CVS and spends her own money on a poster board and writes some messages that are supposed to take some attention away from us. Last week the sign read "Freedom from Religion means Freedom from Decision", this week the signs read "Imagine there's no Heaven, Imagine there's no Hell - John Lennon"

I got to talking to her again this week and she said that I made her cry last week because I told her that holocaust survivors deserve to go to Hell. It amazes me how she wanted to make me look evil by using a trump card to show me the most pitied men in all of time, and how dare I would say that their earthly torture would allow them access to heaven.

After speaking to her some more for awhile I told her to leave.

"Ryan, leave...you hate us, go away!" I told her.

She responded as I knew she would "No!, I'm not done"

I replied "Why don't you leave if you can't stand what were doing, why don't you flee" She didn't say anything.

So I told her "Admit it, there is something deep inside of you that really likes seeing people standing up for what they believe in"

"Yea. I do."

Open Air Preacher. I submit to you that the best way to share the Gospel to those who deny truth is to boldly stand and proclaim it.

You are a mystery to a postmodern world. When you stand in the middle of a busy shopping center, intersection, or street corner and proclaim truth to ears that don't believe in truth...they become as moths to the flame. Completely annoyed, yet strangely attracted, unable to flee from the beautiful glow.

And yes. They hate it. They despise it. But deep down, they want to stand for something. They want to be able to fight for something. It may not be God. It may not even be moral. But God can use their desire for meaning and bring them to awareness of the Truth, the only Truth which is Christ.

So please pray for Ryan. Pray that God will use our stance on God's truth to draw her to himself.

The food of Sheep and Goats.

I think a lot about food.

Recently I heard some preacher or someone mention that churches are doing nothing but feeding the goats. Our churches are buffets filled with goat food.

I thought about that and decided to do some research as to what exactly goats and sheep eat?

Here is what i found from a simple Google search...

"What do Sheep Eat?"
Sheep eat natural greens. They are more picky. Even refusing to drink water that is covered with Scum and Algae.

"What do Goats Eat?"
Goats are a lot less picky, they don't really care to much about what they eat, they chew on everything and likewise can have several digestion problems because of the stuff they chewed on.

I am going to leave it there and let you ponder the sort of food the sheep should eat and what sort of food the Shepard should feed them.

I will not apologize for being a picky sheep with a picky appetite...

The Cowards in the Upper Room

As I was thinking about what to write for Easter, I thought about the Disciples. These men, who followed Christ for three years watching all his miracles, speaking to the God-Man about things we would sell our eyes to hear, and seeing miracles that were to great to be mentioned in the scriptures.

These guys knew more about Christ then we will ever know here on earth. They were willing to follow him for the rest of their lives.

But everything changed when Christ died.

When Christ was the one being mocked, Peter betrayed.
When Christ was placed on public display, the disciples hid.
When Christ was killed, they fled for their lives.

All the disciples hid in a upper room. They were fearful of their lives. Suddenly all the moments with Christ seemed to be a blur as their entire life suddenly became a very dark path with no direction.

These men were average guys from all walks of life. Tax collectors and fisherman. Brothers and sons. They no doubt have heard horror stories of other men who claimed to be the messiah and the consequences for those that followed false prophets.

I don't know what was going on in their minds. I can imagine them sitting around talking trying to figure out he conned them into actually believing that Lazurus really rose from the dead. I can see Thomas trying to explain everything away, while Peter, the outspoken one sat in silence, grieving the death of his best friend.

If the story ended there, these men would be lost in history. They would not so much be a blot on the history of Israel, yet alone the world.

But the story did not end there.

Christ Arose.

The God who died for the Wicked, rose again on the third day, defeating death and giving men a reason to live.

Because Christ arose, these cowards in the room became bold. Not only did this resurrection event change their life, it made them willing to die for it. To be martyred, tortured, persecuted just as Christ was.

Because Christ is alive, we have no reason, nor excuse to coward in the upper room.

He is Alive, and because he is alive we have no excuse to sit around, we have no excuse to not be willing to die for the Gospel should God allow us such an honor.

We are called to take up our cross and follow Him even to the point of death.

It reminds me of the faith of Abraham.

"He considered that God was able even to raise him (Issac) from the dead:"

The belief that God can raise men from the dead should give us the courage to do anything for the sake of the Gospel, not coward in the room.

However, many people today live as if Christ died, cowarding in a room, as if their "faith is futile and they are still in their sins." They have forgotten that Christ can not only raise men from the dead, but he raised himself.

Your faith is not futile because of the resurrection. You faith is not in vain. Your faith is rooted and strengthened in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because of the resurrection, we should be more bold for our faith, we should be more active in the furthering of the Gospel.

God can raise men from the dead.

So get out there and do as God commanded you. Proclaim the Gospel to all men, in all nations.

You have no reason to fear, your God rules over death.

The incomprehensible humilty of Christ.

Phillipians 2:5-8
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

I have been meditating on this verse all week. As Good Friday approaches I have been trying to really grasp what happened on that wooden crucifix two thousand years ago. This is the verse that jumped out. Christ was humbly obedient to the point of death.

I for one struggle with pride. Whether it is in my art, my preaching, my blogs or tweets, I seriously struggle with it. I am aware of it, I gladly accept the rebukes and have been trying to be humble more and more everyday.

The ultimate example of humility comes from Christ and I believe in Heaven when we see God in all his glory, once we stand innocent before God and observe his Wrath being poured out on those who were not benefactors of God's grace, then we will see the true humility of God.

How you ask?

Imagine for a moment someone stabs you with something sharp or burns your skin? Everything within you, all of your God given mechanisms for survival reach a sudden boiling point as you move your hand away and yelp. How hard would it be for you not to make a noise? I would argue that it would be almost impossible.

However, Christ while on earth not only went to the Cross silently, he refused all the desire to be as God. He did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant.

Imagine the incalculable amount of humility it took Christ, the God-Man, to refrain from all the powers of God upon the first crack of the whip entering his flesh.

Our instinct would be to run. Our instinct would tell us to fight. But Christ remained.

If I was God, I promise you, before the leather and bones were in motion towards my body. I would have paused time like Hiro Nakamura and destroyed all of the matter in creation.

But thankfully, your salvation is assured because I am not God and because Christ was.

Not only was he humble to the point of death. He was also humble to the point of God's Wrath.

Imagine that moment. Where the Son of God, holds back his righteous and just anger on man for crucifying him and then in a trinitarian mystery pours it out on himself, his Son.

Christ was humble beyond our wildest imaginations.

But God was angry beyond our wildest imaginations, and in Isaiah 53 we see he was pleased to Crush his son.

Justice was served. The just wrath which prideful men deserved was placed on Christ and it successfully paid the fine for my sin and others...on that Cross, It was finished.

I thank God this week as I reflect on Christ's death and resurrection that the Wrath of God was poured out on Christ because of His humility and His kindness.

All of my pride was placed on the humble Christ.

He became Sin.

So I can come to him.

Soli Deo Gloria.

I have figured out why.

When the apostate churches in America are filled with nothing to eat, a TV show with the spiritual content of baby food comes on and suddenly people flock to it like starving children.

Thats my thoughts on the all to easily excited 'c'hristian's gawking over this show.

If the churches were really preaching the Gospel, this spoiled baby food would not be as appetizing.

A Christian's Inauguration Prayer...

1st Timothy 2:1-6
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.

There has been much discussion over the past few weeks as to whether a Christian should pray at the inauguration of a leader who supports many unchristian policies. After much thought, I have decided that I would pray this prayer:

Please bow your heads as I pray to the one and only God, the redeemer of man, the Lamb who was slain for the wicked.

To the Passover Lamb: As I stand before these millions of people who hear me call upon your name, may I never forget that the biggest honor is that you allow me to enter your throne room without fear and speak to you. As millions hear my prayer, let me rejoice only that you hear.

I stand before you in reverence, as a sinful man not deserving your righteousness that has been accredited to me. Not deserving my voice to come within audible distance of your holy ears.

Oh great ordainer of kings, who bends the hearts of world leaders as a river, hear my prayer. We live in a country, the very country for which I pray today, where not everyone is righteous in your sight. A country that slaughters millions of babies, a country that longs to twist the covenant of marriage which you instituted between man and woman to be a symbol of Christ and his Church.

Please Lord, forgive us.
Please Lord, give our nation a change of mind. Hear my repentant plea for our nation.

We cry, “God bless America!” and we claim that “In God we trust.,” but we do not even know the God upon which we call. The god to whom this nation prays is an idol, created in the minds of the citizens.

Please, One and only God, forgive our idolatry, our greed, and our lusts.

Spare us from your wrath which we deserve, the wrath which you placed on Jesus Christ for those whom you have chosen out of the nation.

Lord, forgive this nation for forgetting the gift of our freedom, and for not using it for the Gospel. We thank you for allowing us the ability to proclaim your Gospel publicly and freely. But we have not done so as we should. Instead we stand on the corners proclaiming the seasonal pleasures of other gods like commercialism and sex.

Please Lord, forgive us.
Please Lord, give our nation a change of mind. Hear my repentant plea for our nation.

I stand before you burdened to pray for Barack Obama, the man you have ordained, and for whom you have instructed that we pray in your inerrant and sufficient word.

Lord, I pray that you would give him a heart of repentance; I pray that you would give him a love for you unlike any leader that has ever graced the oval office has had. May his hair not turn gray because of the stress of state decisions, but because of the overwhelming desire to be in your favor despite political pressure, or polls that demand he do otherwise.

Give President Obama a repenant heart. By your grace and mercy, also give him righteous wisdom and love for justice through your Holy Spirit. May you give Barack Obama insight that can only come from one who sees his depravity.

Please Lord, forgive us.
Please Lord, give our nation a change of mind. Hear my repentant plea for our nation.

I pray this not by man’s permission, but because you have commanded despite man’s opposition.
May all the Glory and Honor go to you in worship of your loving-kindness, holiness and justness.

How did this Happen?! The Fall of Christianity in America # 476

I have been wanting to do a series for a long time on my blog, but have not been able to find a topic that would sustain my personal interest yet alone the interest of it's readers.

The truth is we live in an incredibly anti-Christian nation. A nation who has no clue of the Gospel and is utterly ignorant to it's message. The pastors, leaders, authors and speakers who disguise their lives behind the cloak of Christianity are just as ignorant of the Gospel as the people who listen to them...

So how in the world did America, a land of free speech where the Gospel could be proclaimed limitlessly forget the Gospel? How did this happen?

It could have started wijth a book...

This Christmas the best gag gift for the white elephant exchange among our evangelist friends was a book found at a thrift store. A 'Christian' teen devotional book.

That's right, the end of Christianity in America could have started all with this book.

A Christian teen devotional called "Anyone Can be Cool...but Awesome takes Practice!"

From the books cover "Anybody Can Be cool-But Awesome Takes Practice is an adventure in letting truth shape one's self-image."

It was written by a woman named Lorraine Peterson . Who wrote another great Christian piece of literature comparable to the Pilgrims Progress called "If God Loves Me, Why Can't I Get My Locker Open?"

The sad thing about this book, is how the world mocks Christianity because of it. By reading the reviews at Amazon we see the world has made this book a laughing stock. A new version costs $37, thats right. Why? Possibly because it is the biggest joke ever written. The world's greatest gag gift, a complete mockery of the Gospel.

Not only that, the reviews of this book on Amazon would be quite funny if Christianity was not the target. Read this one from Aaron.

"For years, I struggled with meager coolness until I read this book. Now with my new-found knowledge and my "I am awesome" shirt, all the ladies want to get with me. It may look like they're just laughing and pointing, but I know that they truly find me irresistible. Since I've modeled my hair and clothes from the book cover, everyone thinks I'm Zack from Saved by the Bell. It just doesn't get anymore awesome than that. Oh yeah."

So is this how it all happened? Probably so...but I think there are more reasons to come...tune in.

Florida Woman Says Former Church Plans to Make Her Sins Public

So who could possibly guess that a church would make the front page of FoxNews.com for actually practicing church discipline?

A 49-year-old Florida woman says her former church is threatening to reveal her sins to its congregation after learning that she is in a "sexually immoral relationship.

The Rev. T. Scott Christmas, pastor of the church, told the Florida Times-Union that the "process of loving accountability" is made very clear to members, and the church is doing "nothing more than following the practices of what biblical churches have done through history.

So my team has a nick name for me. They call me a "heckler magnet", probably because not all the time, but definitely most of the time when I open air I am bombarded by hecklers.

The following video was from Newport News, HollyDazzle Fireworks Extravaganza. This guy claimed to be a witch. I asked him to tell me where his morality comes from.

At first he said himself, then he said Government, then he Said Himself again...

He said rape was OK, and slavery as long as the government said it. Not in the video but before the recording he stated that Hitler was wrong, but not at fault because he sets his standard of morality. He could not tell my why Hitler was wrong.

Watch as the crowd gathers and the Gospel is proclaimed as the crowd sees how a God Centered Worldview is critical for all of society.

Recently in Virgina Beach a really cool church Called "WaveChurch" built a new mega conference center that cost over 13 Million dollars. They call it "Architectural Evangelism" as stated by the Steve Mizzelle the "Operations Manager".

That is great! Using the pure architecture of a Church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

That is what they are saying right? Right?

No.

Here is what Steve Kelly, pastor of The Wave Church says...according to an article by the Virgina Pilot...

The 80,000-square-foot behemoth is Wave Church's new worship center, an $18 million complex with a 2,500-seat, high-tech auditorium and a bookstore, cafe and coffee bar.

What it intentionally doesn't have, inside or out, are any of the symbols - steeple, bell tower, stained glass, even a cross - that traditionally say "church" to the public.

"I just don't think that's what people are looking for in the 21st century," said the Rev. Steve Kelly, senior pastor of the evangelical church since 1999. "I was looking for something more corporate, something more contemporary."

You know what? I think he is right! People are not looking for a cross in the 21st Century. They are looking for Self Help, They are looking for prosperity, they are not looking for The Gospel of Jesus Christ. The bible makes it very clear that people HATE the Gospel. Let's not forget that, people hate the Gospel.

Mark Driscoll makes a point to show people that they also hate the Cross. It's offensive, disgusting, horrifying. It's where people were murdered, it was where Christ was slain for sinners like you and me.

I am outraged by this mega church in Virgina Beach who call themselves Christians but hide the Cross where their savior was crucified.

Hey WaveChurch your unoffensive "Church" offends me. I am offended by your cowardice of the Gospel.

Part one of Transplant Ministries Black Friday Open Air Preaching Adventure...

After about a minute of preaching I was bombarded by a Circuit City employee who told me I could not practice my first amendment right in the parking lot. I nicely asked what would happen if I do not stop and he told me nothing. So I continued preaching.

As soon as I continued the Circuit City manager runs over to me and tells me that she will

do something and threatened calling the cops on me.

As I was talking to her, a boy comes up and hands me a tract that we were passing out and asks if I want one, I ask him if he wants one and then I ask the manager if I can pass out the tracts if I do not preach. She actually agreed to let me pass out the tracts so we did.

After the people we were graciously allowed to pass out tracts at Circuit City, we went right across the parking lot to the huge line of people at Toy's R Us and Target.

The following article was written last year (2007) by me, for the local church paper I write for. It still has a strong message and it is one of my favrote things I have ever written.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

1 Chronicles 29:13

Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise Your glorious name.

Every Thanksgiving we gather around a table with family and friends and pray before our meal for the many blessings God has given us. We sit aside one day to eat a meal with all sorts of family members that come from out of town. As the turkey sits on the table, our mouths water as the mashed potatoes seem to stare at us. It is the one time of the year we can be certain that we give the Creator of taste bud's His due respect and actually give Him the time He deserves before we stuff ourselves.

It does beg a question though doesn't it?

What will you be thanking God for this Thanksgiving?

It's a simple question, that receives simple answers...

Thank you for family.
Thank you for food.
Thank you for health.

So simplistic that I think we overlook the complexity of the event we are about to take place in doing. A seemingly simple but more than complex, evolutionary impossibility, the utterly, not so simplistic act of eating grandma's food.

Mothers Day Weekend, May of 2007, I was sitting at my grandma's cramming down a wonderful piece of steak. Honestly, it was probably one of the most wonderful pieces of steak I have ever eaten. Probably because it was the last steak I would eat all summer. Well let's not be prejudice to steak here. This was the last bit of solid food I would eat all summer.

I started choking on the steak not in a weird "I cannot breathe sort of way" but "The steak is just sitting in my throat and not moving" sort of way. I pondered the situation I was in, and then with what I feared would be my last cough, I coughed it out. Scared, I placed the mangled piece of steak on the plate and thought it profitable to just end the dinner early. Long story short, the next day I had trouble swallowing my food, then the next, and well I just gave up on eating anything of solid substance. Then came series after series of tests that were filled with false fears of strokes, heart aneurysms, complicated surgeries and most importantly, doctor's saying "I have no idea what is wrong with you."

This summer I lost over fifty pounds in a diet I like to call "just stop eating, cause your throat's not working anyway!"

To cram a really long story into a very short article, I just recently started eating again. The Doctor's said their best guess was that the steak caused my throat to become inflamed for a short time, however, since I gave up on eating for a much longer time the muscles became weak due to lack of use.

Of all the things I learned this summer, the most important thing is how little thanks we give God. Doctor after doctor kept telling us not only how complicated the digestive system was, but also how incredibly complicated the ability to swallow food so it could be digested without you choking and dying actually is. Complex nerves trigger muscles and gag reflex's are there to protect you from dying with every single bite of Grandma's moist turkey.

And we just thank God for food, on one day for only three things?

So I challenge you and your family to remember this holiday season to not only thank God for the normal everyday stuff, but take some time to thank him for the things that don't come to mind, like the ability to taste Grandma's stuffing, to swallow grandma's stuffing without dying and for the ability for your body to use that to nourish you and give you energy.

Not to mention the 2,256 times God unknowingly saved you from a deadly car accident because your forgot your key's. The 312 times you slipped and somehow caught yourself, stars stay in the sky, the simple fact the earth continues spinning in gravity, the ocean's stop at the beach and not your house, the earth doesn't fling into the Sun, divine covenants cannot be broken and the sovereign hand of God in um well...everything.

But most importantly as you sit down with friends and family and thank God for those things, make sure the number one thing you praise Him for is His eternally long lasting and undeserving Grace. Ultimately the ability to swallow food is only temporal, however we are promised that one day we will sit, eat and give thanks with Him for eternity.

There, Thanksgiving will not be a one day a year event rudely interrupted the next day by angry Christmas shoppers...it will be forever.

The Five Hundred...Live at the BET Awards.

I got some time to blog, and decided that I would post some of the e-mails that I have received from other people about their five hundred experience.

But first mine.

I personally want to thank all of you for coming out and preaching the Gospel to hundreds of people. There was never the time to take an official count, but many said it was more in the chapel for the five hundred then any of the breakouts.

I never thought we would get 100 people yet alone get more then 500 (like everyone seems to be in agreement that we had) and I am humbled that you chose to spend your vacations after a long day of preaching to go and tirelessly share the Gospel with people you never met, in a town you barely know.

I went to the BET Awards.

Most of my team, which was team 1.1, never went out to share their faith before. It was their very first time. Once we all got there we went on the subway train and did one on ones and open air preaching inside the cars. I preached on every car I was on for the entire night. There was minimal reaction.

Apparently the BET Awards were very far away from the subway exit, through very poor areas of Atlanta. There were homeless people on the side of the roads, there were guys asking us for change as the overwhelming smell of alcohol bathed them. We talked to several of them.

When we finally got there, no one wanted to Open Air understandably because most of them were new. So the first time we saw the crowd I jumped up and fired it up. It was not long until a Cop came and told the crowds to move so we moved over near the buses.

As we were walking I decided to talk personally with one of the guys who started to heckle me before the cops moved us. I got pretty far, even with Grace, but as we will see later it didn't have any immediate effect.

We got to the buses of the stars. Many people were awaiting a glimpse of their Idol. An Idol who revels in the secular. Sex, drugs and Money. They were standing around just awaiting a five second glimpse. It was pure Idolatry.

I grabbed my stool and interrupted their church service and found myself in the middle of a hornets nest. People were angry, I was ruining their night. I pleaded with the people to calm down and give me two minutes of their time, my news could change their eternity.

I started by saying that Kanye West has a song called Jesus Walks, where he says that Jesus Walks with him, how do you know that Jesus Walks with Kanye? Is there a transformation in his life so great he hates his Sin? You wouldn't know it buy his newest music.

I then presented Law as I pleaded loudly with every breath for them to understand Grace. We did not have amplification, so I was grabbing the crosswalk light with my arm, gasping for every breath and yelling with such passion that after two minutes of preaching my stomach was in pain. The loud noise of the crowd mixed with the noise of the buses made it a terrible place to preach. Luckily I am blessed with one of the Open Air Voices. The guy who heckled me earlier heckled me again.

As I was preaching the anger from the crowds turned to oohs and ahhs as Lil Wayne (who was by all means very little) came by and we rushed to see if we could give him a million dollar bill before he went on the bus, he was bathed in the smell of weed and the crowds oohed and awed at the apparently expensive brand of weed he was smoking. What a life they thought.

What a Life I thought.

Following him on the bus were some very disgustingly dressed woman. Obviously prostitutes, or they might as well be anyway.

What a Life.

We were unable to get gospel tracts to Lil Wayne personally but some of the guards were standing around slowly entering and exiting the bus. We gave a few to them and asked that they take some on the bus for us, they agreed.

Later a rap star known as T-Pain marched down and I quickly grabbed some huge million dollar bills and gave them to some people as they were entering the bus. A lot of Gospel tracts went on T-Pain's bus.

After that things died down and I talked to a lady who was standing waiting by the rails for her star to come. She was very angry at me, I ruined her night, she was a "Christian" and was coming out for some fun. I asked how she could be pursuing holiness and support such atrocities which Christ hates. She was angry and then ignored me, even though she did not loot at me, I gave her law.

That was pretty much it for my experiences that night. I want to think my team who all said they would continue to go preach in their hometowns despite being placed in the middle of such a hostile and angry environment.

One Question...

As I type this I am listening to the questions that are being asked by the people at the "Town Hall", and I am forced to think about the amazing opportunity that these people have. They get to ask two people who one of which is likely to be the next president of the United State one question...

Have you thought what your one question would be?

My question came very easy.

Before I state it I want to mention one of the greatest powers a president has. It's his bully pulpit. He has the power to summon all of the media, anytime he wants, to discuss whatever he wants.

With a single command, all major broadcasts must drop their prime time schedule to play the president's address to the nation.

So with that in mind, what question would I ask the President?

"Would you as President, be willing to use the power of your bully pulpit to instill outrage in the American people over Abortion"

It's that simple.

A hesitation would show that the candidate could careless about the genocide in the United States.

The point is this...

For years on end we have heard over and over, there is nothing a president can do apart from electing the right supreme court justice. I disagree.

If I were President, I would call a primetime address to the Nation....

I would walk out and not say a word.

Then I would reach down behind my pulpit and pull out 11x14 Photos of aborted children.

and silently shuffle them, one by one as I stared silently at the camera.

When I got to the last photo, I would set it down, and walk off camera.

All without saying a word.

If I were president I would get a flag pin made that had the baby feet right in the center.

I would wear a button on my suit with the photo of an aborted child, everywhere I went.

I would constantly remind people of the number of children that have been murdered since my inauguration.

I would divide the country into two camps, expecting to be assisnated as was Lincoln.

I would govern as I preach, as if I would never be invited back.

Does your political choice care enough about the slaughter in this nation?

Free Water...With No Strings Attached???

A lot of back story here...

At the local Denbigh Days Festival in Newport News we set up a 'Heckers Mic' and shared the Gospel with a lot of people most of the day.

The festival placed all the churches together, we were placed right beside a church that is very bent on healing and passing out bottles of water with "No Strings Attached".

All day we shared the Gospel with their kids, as they came up to see "How Good they Were" for the chance to get a prize.

None of the people in that Church could even come close to explaining the Gospel correctly. None. In fact there was one guy who when asked how their church was sharing the Gospel pointed to his shirt which had a Cross on it and said..."There is a Cross on our Shirt", I couldn't make that up.

At the end of day, I felt burdened to let them know that the Bottle of Water was empty and worthless and contrary to all of John 4 with the woman at the well.

Fireproof...

In all honesty I was not planning on writing a review for Fireproof. The reason was that I know how sensitive people can be when you call a Christian Movie bad. There is always some people who think it is a sin to critique a movie, call out bad acting or bad writing. So in the interest of not lying, and halting unnecessary rage filled blog debates, I preeminently decided not to review the movie. All of this was however, before I saw it.
Before I start I want to define a term. Christian Movie. When I say Christian Movie I am not referring to major Christian Blockbusters like Passion of the Christ or Chronicles of Narnia. I am strictly referring to low budget, independent Christian films. Anything made by Cloud Ten, Anything made by Sherwood, and all other straight to DVD movies. With that being said Fireproof was far better then I thought it would be. This says a lot, because when it comes to Christian Movies, the glass is always very empty.

The first thing I liked about Fireproof was the fact that it was heavily engaging. This is something that Christian Movies never do. Most Christian movies give you a very boring story that ultimately never makes you care about anything other then asking when the movie was going to be over. This was not the case with Fireproof, the general storyline was very captivating and engaging. The characters were normal enough to allow you to show genuine concern. The story was realistic enough and separated by adventure scenes to keep you fully focused through out the entire movie. In fact I had to go the restroom the entire time but waited it out because of shear curiosity as to what was going to happen after each scene. I never once thought to ask when the move was going to be over and was sort of sad when it was.

This is by far Kirk Cameron's best acting role. It was incredible. He cried real tears, he showed real anger and pride. It was awesome...However, it does not matter how good your acting is when the scriptwriting is something to be desired. That's right of all the good things in this movie, the Scriptwriting was not one of them. Don't get me wrong the general storyline was great, the direction great, but the dialogue was normal. This is something us Christians need to work on. It is a challenge...and I'll give you an example.

In the beginning of the movie unregenerate Caleb is very angry at his wife. He then says some words that if this were a secular movie would not have been clean. Now, they should not, nor am I ever alluding to the fact that there should be swear words in the movie. There should not be. But this is where creativity comes in. I am not even saying strong words should have been used. But when an angry unsaved person is yelling such nice words to his wife while spit is flying down his mouth it just causes me to chuckle at the absurdity of it and comes off as cheesy.

This is where creativity comes in. How can we portray that anger and hostility without saying words at all, maybe an outside shot looking in though a window of him yelling at is wife. Just suggestions. It's hard. I was reading some Christian on RottenTomatoes who said he refuses to see "clean" Christian movies because spirituality is dark. Now he was trying to reason his way into seeing blasphemous movies for the sake of finding spiritual truths. Which is absurd. But I think he was right about something...before someone is saved, they are in darkness. I think Christian filmmakers need to get together and accurately think of how that darkness can be portrayed without causing people to sin and setting new heights in creativity the secular world would esteem. After all we do have the Creator of Creativity on our side...

Now with that being said the scriptwriting was not a major issue in the whole of the movie because it was so engaging, it was also very funny. In fact there were some scenes where I laughed harder then any movie I have been to in a long time.

All together this movie was very balanced. The Gospel presentation was amazing. The good parts made the bad parts dissapear and it is a movie I am proud of. So congratulations to all the people at Sherwood and thanks tremendously to all the volunteers that made this movie happen.

500 Transportation! VERY IMPORTANT!!!

So after a lot of discussion and prayer we at the five hundred have decided that it is not in the best interest to try and get a massive amount of buses there to transport everyone. The logistics of paying for and mobilizing 10 major buses is way beyond anything we will have time or money for. The cost of paying for buses is way over our zero dollar budget that we planned on and really it is not necessary.

So here is what we are planning on. We are assuming that most of the people coming to the Deeper Conference will have some sort of transportation. So what is the plan?

#1. Car Pools. If you drove and or rented a car to/for The Deeper Conference, we are asking you to use that car to go to Atlanta afterwards. Were also asking that you are willing to give away any available seats so people who honestly do not have a ride will be able to ride a long. We understand that many people do not know their way around Atlanta, but in the next week or two you will be receiving a map of your assigned location for that night. It will tell you step by step instructions on how to get from First Baptist Church of Woodstock to stated destination.

#2. Church Vans. If you happen to be driving to Atlanta and do not live that far away, we would like you to investigate the possibility of using your church van instead of the family car. This will free us up with a lot of space will allow us more freedom. We understand that there are not many people who can drive the church van due to insurance, but if there are just a few this would help tremendously.

Any other ideas you can think of that would help us with this massive transportation of Christians to the city center are greatly appreciated. We understand that it was advertised and promoted with the possible use of buses, however it's just not a reasonable option. We do however believe that because of the numerous locations and size of groups that finding transportation will not be a serious issue.

Over the next week or two be checking your in boxes for 500 updates and information. We will be sending you VERY IMPORTANT info about the event, including where you will be preaching, how to get there and other important information.

n the United States we have more access to Bibles then any other country in the world. Take a trip to your local Lifeway and you will see aisles and aisles of every possible bible you could ever imagine.

For those little girls who think they deserve to be treated like Royalty there is the God's Princess Bible, because she is a daughter of the King. This Bible comes complete with bedazzled jewels and has a pretty pink leather cover and strap. Because your child deserves to be treated as Royalty. She is after all. perfect in every way and deserving of the prestige and honor that comes only to Jesus Christ.

Then there is the Refuel Bible, this Bible is amazing because it looks nothing like a Bible. Instead it looks like a gossip filled youth teen magazine! YEA! Included on the cover is an awesome photo of a guitar with words like MUSIC and GIRLS:SPILL IT ALL!!!! The best part about this biblezine is that it is perfect for all of those Christian teenagers in North Korea. It hides the fact that it is an actual Bible, this way when a Korean guard comes up to them with a 45mm in their face demanding them to display what they are reading, they can do it with no fear of being shot. Incredible!

I could go on and on with all these hip, relevant Bibles, but there a problem. In America we update our Bibles more then peer reviewed journals and all those irrelevant Bibles laying around can destroy the atmosphere, that's why the folks at HarperOne have created The Green Bible made of recycled materials so you can not feel guilty when you decide Global Warming was a hoax and this bible needs to be tossed away. Why send used bibles to places where they really need it?

So thank you Christian bookstores all over America for helping us feed our consumerist appetites with every possible want and need. You really understand the importance of the word being relevant to ALL men and to that I salute you.

Sola Scriptura, and to the Persecuted Christians all over the world who are starving for a single page of any bible, I apologize. for the downright ridiculous behavior of us Americans., who buy into this filth.

Way of the Master Season Three....Review.

It's no secret nor cover up that I am routinely very critical over Christian media. I have been known to say several times that it is possible to make a really bad Christian movie with a very good gospel presentation and we as Christian Artist, Vidographers and Writers should be able to say so without fear of being labeled emergent or getting hostile rebuke.

The Way of the Master Seasons 1 and 2 were filled with amazing content, good spiritual truth and were used by God to change my life...but they were not that creative and had many disasters (Am I the only one to have to be heckled by an atheist about the evolution defying Banana?)

Anyways...

With that being said, last night I sat down to watch the first episode of season three and in all honesty it was as if I was watching an entirely different show.

The entire format for the show changed...for the better. Where should I begin!

Let's start out with the basics...

1. It's seamless. Season one and Two were as if we were watching multiple segments, Ray and Kirk would speak, Bible Verse & Voice Over, Street interview, Ray and Kirk... It was very segmented. However with Season 3, that predictable format has changed. There is music that forces you into each scene with fluid and creative editing (The use of film filters is a great touch)...It's just captivating...

2. It's amazing what a Big Jib can do. The constantly moving Jib arm adds energy to the shots and again makes it more seamless. In season 1 and 2 you were simply listening to Ray and Kirk talk, now were engaged and constantly moving. Our eyes never wonder or get bored with long shots, jump cuts and bad edits. And while were on the topic of cinematography...The war scenes were shot in 24p...I know, WOTM in 24p, what were they thinking!!! It's awesome! That seriously made me re-wind the TiVo and play it over again...

3. Motion Graphics. In Christian media the one thing that is always sub par is the Motion Graphics. Most of the time it's as if the editors decided they would just put them in last using standard presets and they always forget that the motion graphics are the thematic glue that unites the entire program...In season three it looks like someone in the WOTM production room got a copy of After Effects...The intro was amazing and it did not look as if I was staring at unedited Digital Juice media. I want you to know Mr. Motion Graphic Designer Guy you are very much appreciated. (Call me Sometime, let's do Lunch)
Ahem..

Anyways, let's continue...

I have to say that not all areas were amazing, I am still questioning the Ray Comfort Nose Hair Cam. The single camera that forces you to look into the nose of the person being witnessed to. However (With no spoilers) at the very end of the show for obvious reasons, it was quite engaging and I decided it added a nice touch...sometimes. (It did make my mom cry, but she cries when contestants forget their lyrics on American Idol)

Now with that being said, I do believe that Christians have another show they can be very excited about. I know I am...Today marks the day when the two best produced Christian shows on Television (Wretched, WOTM) have theology as good as their production...

I think what is so brilliant about sarcasm is it's utter ability to reduce absurdity to absurdity. A lot of Christians shy away from it. People say it's not loving or caring to use such a tone of voice. But then we can see that Christ himself used sarcasm to show that the Pharisees and Sadducee's had no idea what they were doing.

In one case Jesus says to the ones who did nothing but read the law, over and over and over again "Have you not read...?" Ouch, imagine how deep that must have cut them and all of those who were around. All they did was read the law! Anyways...

This brings me toOmvendtVideo.

This guy made a seven minute video, that is totally hilarious and rips apart the "Jesus You Spin me Right Round" worship.

Warning the video is 7 Minutes long, but I had to pause it because I was laughing so hard so it takes more like twenty to finish...

From a Critical standpoint, the lighting, frame composition and everything is brilliant. I am amazed more people have not checked his stuff out. Christian, you need to learn to make quality video and use it for the Glory of God.

The following article is in reference to a group of friends who I occasionally go and preach with in Richmond, VA. They were cited for a noise violation for preaching the Gospel and sentenced to 60 days in jail (although the days were suspended).

Judge drops noise charges against Richmond street preachers.

Richmond Circuit Judge Richard D. Taylor Jr. dismissed charges against three street preachers for violating the city noise ordinace, ruling that they had been cited under the wrong section of the city code.

Police had charged James Craft, 28; Matthew Ray, 25; and Ryan Walker, 24, of the Richmond Evangelical Biblical Team with violating a ageneral city ordinance involving offensively loud noise for two February inclidents in which they used amplifiers to preach at First Fridays and used megaphones to preach to bar-goers in Shockoe Bottom.

Taylor ruled that another section of the code, governing the use of amplifiers for religious speech, applied.

You know maybe Ms. Osteen should have read some of her husbands own material, because apparently she is in court today for attacking a flight attendant. Obviously she denies it but the FAA already fined her $3000 for the assault on the personnel. As it turned out the whole fight started over a water stain on her first class seat. (Shameful!)

Did you ever wonder what would those Christians in North Korea do if those guards did not clean up that water stain off of their cold cell floor? I know what they would do they would read "Your Best Life Now" and they would be OK.

Maybe Ms. Osteen should have read this...

On page 153 of Your best life now it says..
"People who harbor anger often don't realize it, but they are poisoning their own lives. When we don't forgive, we're not hurting the other person. Were not hurting the company that did us wrong, were not hurting God, were hurting Ourselves."

Wow. How profound. Ms. Osteen your outrage towards that flight attendant is really only hurting yourself.

Recently I have been reading my torn and tattered copy of the Message. When it hit me. Hey, this is to in depth, to theologically sound. I am way to post modern for something that has such truth in it to be my source of daily bread...

That's when I was led to discover The Voice.

No Joke.

The Voice is a new "Bible" endorsed by Brian McLaren. Wow, I thought to myself this has got to be good.

I went to the website and saw a video. Here is a great line from it...

On Monday, July 21, 2008, women in South Dakota showed up for their abortion appointments at 8:00 a.m. But there was a sign on the door that Planned Parenthood was closed. Monday is the day that Planned Parenthood usually schedules abortions at its Sioux Falls abortion clinic. On those Mondays, Planned Parenthood flies a doctor in from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to perform 15 to 20 abortions. On this Monday, no unborn babies died in South Dakota by an abortion. The reason Planned Parenthood suspended its abortion practice this week should be the most exciting news the Culture of Life has ever had. Monday was the first day Planned Parenthood had to comply with South Dakota's new Abortion Informed Consent Law. The Law became effective because of a decision of an en banc Court of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, on June 27, 2008, which vacated an injunction. Now Planned Parenthood must comply with the requirements of the Law.

Among other things, the new law requires the abortion doctor to advise the pregnant mother, in writing, that the abortion will "terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being." The U.S. Court of Appeals rejected Planned Parenthood's argument that the Statute violated the doctor's first amendment rights. Planned Parenthood is contending that the statement is one of "ideology." The Court held that the Statute made it clear the statement was a statement of biological fact, not one of ideology; and the evidence produced did not demonstrate it was anything other than an accurate statement of biological fact.

The new Law also requires the abortion doctor to inform the pregnant mother that the pregnant mother and the second human being have an existing relationship that enjoys protection under the Constitution of the United States, and that the procedure terminates that relationship and the rights associated with it. The Law also requires disclosure of medical risks, including the risk of depression and "increased risk of suicide ideation and suicide."

After the case was remanded back to the Federal District Court on June 27th, Planned Parenthood's lawyers attempted to convince the District Court Judge to enter a new injunction concerning the disclosures other than the "human being" disclosure. On Thursday, July 17th, the District Court refused to enter another injunction and the Law became effective on Monday, July 21st.

When someone finally came to the Planned Parenthood office this last Monday, no abortion doctors arrived with them. No abortion doctor flew into South Dakota that day. The penalties for abortionist's non-compliance could include a prison sentence, loss of medical license, and civil liability. In South Dakota, a wrongful death case can be brought for the death of an unborn child at any age of gestation. Time will tell if an abortionist will take the medical and legal risk of completing abortions in South Dakota without compliance to the 8th Circuit decision. The new rules are that they must tell the truth. The immediate beneficiaries of this new law are the women and their children. The women will be better informed, and that information, for some, will most likely result in the women keeping their children. More children will live.

But, perhaps the greatest beneficiary is our culture at large.

In the lawsuit brought by Planned Parenthood challenging the constitutionality of South Dakota's Informed Consent Law, Dr. Bernard Nathanson testified that he was one of the original founders of the National Alliance to Repeal Abortion Laws (NARAL). He is probably the last living original founder. He testified that as part of their strategy, the NARAL founders decided that they had to deny what they knew to be true -- that an abortion killed a living human being. They decided to deceive the public (and the courts) by maintaining that what was "evacuated" in an abortion was "just some tissue." Dr. Nathanson has blown NARAL's cover. The Eighth Circuit has now shown a bright light on the truth. And the truth will, in the end, set us free.

I am going to be honest, I really did enjoy the concept of Bele Chere. The whole idea of artist coming together and performing in the streets is really cool. I wish it was not so secular and pagan driven, I also wish all the Artwork was used to show the creativity of the Creator.

Anyways, I do a lot of pro photography and I even took my camera with me to the event, but did not take it out of the car because I decided I did not want to carry it around all day and was not sure of the weather.

While preaching there were several people with cameras walking around, which got me to thinking "Hey...I bet they post their Photos on the Internet"

The man in the Dirty White Shirt.

I have been actively sharing the Gospel for almost a year now, maybe a little less then that. Last year it was off and on, and this year it has been more consistent.

We went to Bele Chere in Asheville, NC this weekend. One of the largest street festivals I have ever seen. They say 400,000 people go there every year. It was literally blocks and blocks of people. Tightly packed from elbow to elbow. Anywhere you preach, your going to be heard by many. Every time we preached we had a crowd.

But crowds are not why we preach. We preach to see God Glorified whether people are saved or not, we know God will be Glorified, because people will be without excuse.

But it is the desire of every street preacher to see someone saved. That is the reason we preach the Gospel, that is the Goal. To see someone come to a saving repentant knowledge of Jesus Christ and escape the Wrath of God.

While preaching the Gospel on our fold-up stool on the corner of College St. and Haywood, I was getting pretty horse. There was a large crowd of people in front of me and I was in one of those preaching zones, where it's just constant Law, Grace, Law Grace.

Standing out of the crowd was a man in a dirty white shirt listening passionately to almost every word I said, he stepped out from the crowd, he separated himself from his peers. I figured that he was going to heckle me. I prepared for it.

Then I said the following words...

"What sin is so great that you would prefer to go to Hell, Get on you knees and beg God to save you. Repent of your Sin...turn to Christ who died for the wicked"

I guess I throw those words out so much, that I never really expect anyone to do anything.

But that's when the man in the dirty white shirt dropped to his knees and prayed.

At that moment, I just emphasized Christ, it was a blur from there. I continued preaching, came to a stopping place and went to go and see the man in the dirty white shirt.

My friends were talking to him, he had a name, his name was Jerald. From what I gathered he was homeless and he was hungry. I assumed he might have been a little drunk (like so many there were) because I was staring at his eyes and they were glassy. But as I stared at his eyes, I noticed that tears were coming out of them...he was talking about how he is scared, and asked if that was a right emotion to have.

Suddenly, I realized that this man was in tears because of his sin, he was scared of a Holy God. Suddenly I did not see a man in a dirty white shirt, I saw someone who was convicted of their sin. Who lost all pride in the middle of a busy street corner with thousands of people and knelt down before his God.

Nathan, left to go get the man some food while Tony got him a New Testament bible. We talked for a little bit, showed him a local church to go to and he went and sat against the buildings wall. He was reading his Bible. Tony asked him to read Colossians 3. So he was.

Nathan brought him his food, and sat it down beside him. The worldly food suddenly had no value to him. He ignored it as he read his Bible. He read for maybe 10 minutes, got up and left with his dinner while still reading the Bible.

I thank God that he would use a sinner like me to reach out to Jerold. I saw him as one who was in a dirty shirt, but God cleansed his wicked heart. I never witnessed someone being convicted to the point of tears before, and I pray that God uses him for his Glory in ways he could never imagine. I pray his salvation was genuine and the emotion was a result of salvation, not the emotion that saved him. I may never see him on earth again.

So please pray for Jerald.

and may all the Glory go to God.

Honestly, it is very hard to blend Creativity and Worship. Although I believe that it should be done all the time, it is often quite difficult to do something to spectacular with the focus being placed on Christ and not being placed on the Creativity of the individual performer.

Which brings me to a YouTube video that I got in my e-mail this week. The following is a video of a group at a church using black lights and white gloves to animate the words of the Song. There are many reasons why I like this approach...

1. The faces are hidden. At the end of the performance, no one can take credit for any certain work or part. This allows for...

2...All attention to be focused on the Words of the song and worship of the Lord. Notice how the visuals force you to think of the words that are being sung to the Savior.

I have no idea who is responsible for this, but I think it is brilliant in many ways.

The Evangelism Training at Lakeland. Where is the Gospel? part 3

As we went into the large room I grabbed my "How to Know you are Truly Saved" booklet and found a seat. The guy who was speaking was named Jeff Lewis with CityTakers the "Evangelism" branch of The Florida Outpouring.

Here it is important to mention this video...

Why? Because I call this video propaganda. It's sole purpose is to show that "We are teaching Biblical Evangelism, so get off of our back!". In fact their claims to teach biblical evangelism has been of much discussion among the Way of the Master community. So it was very important to see if their claims of "Biblical Evangelism" is true via a first hand encounter.

The first few moments of the event was actually promising. He mentioned that if the revival stayed in the building and did not bring glory to God we were doing nothing more then feeding ourselves, he even said a few funny lines that yes, even made me and my friend Ryan laugh along with him...yet I forget what they were. Anyways he was very charismatic. Now on to the evangelism...

Oh but before we get to trite things like sharing the Gospel, it is first important to teach people two things.

First we need to teach people how to have a "Word of Knowledge". Of Course. I mean where would I have been all those times I was preaching law and grace if I did not know that someone was "Looking for a Job" in the crowd of hecklers...

This is where it got absurd and I cannot stress this enough...I am not making this up. Everything he says is not even close to paraphrased. It's so engraved in my mind...I cannot get it out.

"Everyone close your eyes. Think of a Pink elephant, has everyone done that think of it...now open your eyes. Close them again, Now, think of a pink elephant. Did you do it! That is exactly what a Word of Knowledge looks like. The Lord has given you an imagination to get Word of Knowledge's! Just like Jesus with the Woman at the Well!"

Sigh.

Everyone desperate to hear from God followed every word he said. He then showed how this principal could be applied.

Before I continue there I need to mention something. There are three Johnathan Edwards in History I need to point out.

The Presidential Candidate.
The Reformer.
and the Psychic that had it's own TV Show several years ago where he would use age old techniques of being "Almost vaguely right" to make people think he was one hundred percent right about hearing from the dead.

Just think about that last one.

He then said he had a word of knowledge from God about a man in a Brown hat. My friend Ryan was wearing a brown hat (Could it be, God had given him a word of Knowledge so Ryan might go up there and preach the true Gospel?)

No, Because 12 people in the room had brown hats. He pointed to another guy somewhat close to Ryan. The guy goes up there and Jeff says the following.

"I see you in a car with a lot of stuff, maybe a sleeping bag"

Did I mention that almost everyone there has come with luggage and sleeping stuff because they were either camping or going on a road trip to Lakeland? No surprise there. Our car was filled with sleeping bags!

Anyways he basically tells the guy he should move to Florida, etc etc. (The guy was from Scotland)

So he gave very vague descriptions while letting the guy in the brown hat fill him in on the details, while proclaiming that's exactly what he sees.

Well anyways that was over with and now it was time to get to evangelism...

Nope.

Now we need to know how to heal people. At this point I checked to see if we were still in the Evangelism class. We were. Sigh.

This is where it Got crazy.

He would call out all these disorders that people have using the same vague word of knowledge techniques.

For example...

"Is there anyone there with stomach ulcers? Do you have pink pills"

Hmm, pink pills? Like pepto bismol pink pills? No. What are the Odds?

Now comes the fun part (no not evangelism) he had people with cavities stand up. He said that God was going to fill their cavity with Gold.

Oh boy I thought, I think I have a Cavity! He then mentioned a whole mess load of other sicknesses that people had.

Including this one...

"There is a woman who was gardening, and she stubbed her toe with a shovel...Anyone? Anyone?"

No one replied.

"Well there are people on the Internet watching, maybe it was for them! But I feel as if it was for someone in here."

No one replied. Without missing a beat he had everyone stand and pray for the healings to take place in the room. After everyone prayed he said...

"This is gonna be amazing! Everyone stand up look in the mouths of those who had cavities. Look for Gold!"

Not one person shouted with joy, not one persons mouth was filled with Gold. Without missing a beat, he went on to a much more vague disorder like back pain. Everyone forgot about the fact he was WRONG.

At this point an hour and a half passed, I was getting annoyed, and all my stones missed...So we left.

There was no biblical evangelism taught at this meeting. (At least it was not the main focus.)

After being there for over hour, we never heard the Gospel or Christ's name magnified.

Keep preaching the Gospel friends...Do not get side tracked by stage shows and con artist.

How to know you are truly saved? Lakeland, FL Blog Part 2

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. - James 1:14

After the first ra ra session there was a few minutes of a break, at this point we stood outside as people were leaving and passed out million dollar bills, we got responses that were varied including the usual "thank yous" and the "I don't need these because I am saved".

In the main lobby there was a large booth where they sold lots of stuff. From books to DVDs. One DVD a lot of people were buying was called "How to Keep your Healing" as if God could take it away from you. (Read James Chapter 6)

But on the table was one book that caught my attention enough for me to actually fork out a whole four quarters.

It was called "How to know if you are Truly Saved" and was about 20 pages long. Upon opening up I was immediately shocked it mentioned Hell, and Punishment...I was blown away! Until I read a few more pages.

I am glad I got this book because I believe it answers some questions as to why the Law is being preached but not having the same conscious striking effect.

In the book it says the following (Paraphrased) "God asked the Devil 'What is your price for Sin' and the devil replied 'Blood'"

The core of the issue comes to this. They believe that the Devil makes them sin, the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross was to settle an argument between God and the Devil. As opposed to the right belief that we sin on our own because we are by nature sinful and wicked. Also it is very crucial to the Gospel that the punishment for sin satisfies God's wrath and Justice, not pleasure of Satan.

This is why they could hear the Law, and it not impact their conscious! They believed it was the Devil making them do it! They were in essence worshiping the Devil by giving him so much credit on the fall.

I stopped reading the book...

It was 1pm and time for the "Evangelism Training" ...

The first day in Lakeland.

The first day we arrived at Lakeland around 3am, we set up our tent and immediately went to bed.

We woke up the next morning and asked around. What is there to do we thought to ourselves? Most of the people were gone, and we needed to find out where to go and what time the events started. Luckily there was a very nice couple from the UK. They came all the way from overseas just to see the revival. We talked to them for a good twenty minutes, they were very nice. We gave them a true and false conversion CD as they told us the directions and plans.

Not everything takes place on the Campground, most of the stuff takes place at Ignited Church which is a few miles away, this is the Church the revival started. We got there and there was of course ton's of hypnotic dancing and not a single place to sit. As we walked in they were giving some sort of prosperity spiel and was about to take an offering, Ryan told me to place a million dollar bill in the collection envelopes. So I did.

There was no good places to sit so an usher asked if we would like to go to the overflow room, we agreed. It was quiet in there with only a few people and we could discuss everything that happened as they were speaking. They never did speak, it was mainly the same very repetitive worship music. While there this lady came up to us, she was very nice she was in the overflow room her baby was sleeping so she was in there. She had her baby, was pregnant and left her husband to come here all the way from North Carolina. We talked to her for a while then she started talking about how awesome it was. At this point I could not take it any longer, so I humbly told her that I did not want to make her thank that we approve of the services, and that we were genuinely concerned that they were in deed of not God. She said it was OK, and she was glad we were so kind about it and not causing commotions...

Now begins the first of many times we sat down with someone and walked them through the Law.

As soon as I said to her the words "Ten Commandments" she yelped with joy as she said Way of the Master!, Kirk Cameron!

You see the problem as we very quickly learned is that almost everyone there knows the Law. They know how to "Share the Gospel" but they never do. The problem is that they believed without hesitation everything we said. However they could not figure out that they worshiped a false God. We ran into this problem several times. It really places a damper on the conversation when they already know what your going to say, they agree with everything but they cannot apply it to their "god". How do you witness to people who agree with everything you say?

It was a huge problem and it was with almost everyone there. As you will see in later blogs...

The worst heckling Experience of my Life...by Kids!

So after a long day walking around Atlanta, touring all the sweet spots for The Five Hundred we went to a local skate park in Lawrenceville, GA. There were a few hundred people there, all kids of certain ages and sizes. There was a small mound in the middle of the skate park that was located right near every one.

As a youth minister at my church I was excited to speak to all these teenagers, so I asked them to rank their walk with Christ on a scale from one to ten. Keep the number in your head. Then I read revelation three about being lukewarm, and asked them if their number was either a one or a ten.

Then I walked through the Law. I said to all those kids who were skateboarding that if you've skateboarding more then the God who gave you the ability to skate you are worshiping a false God of wood and wheels. I even explained that skateboarding was not a sin...But it did not matter.

At this point I was rushed by a mob of teenagers. They were furious, loud and I was surrounded by at least fifty kids. All holding their skateboards in the air. One of them was the initiator and he was cussing at me, in my face, blaspheming God. I continued to preach the Law and then into Grace proclaiming that I care about them and don't want them to go to hell and to just listen to me.

I was then rushed by an adult who told me I should go with him to preach the Gospel to those who were using the restroom and had nothing better to do. He was cussing at me and swearing. I said I would not follow him to the restroom but said I have some reading material for him and gave him a million dollar bill. At this point he took the tract, ripped it up and placed it on my head as I was preaching (or pleading) for these kids to repent. I knocked the tracts off my head in a comical way that made the kids laugh and then I was immediately doused with water (or sprite) at this point some of the kids were telling the other kid to stop pouring water on me, and I looked at that kid and told him he could do that all he wants, I care about you and don't want you to go to hell.

Then kids started throwing a mixture of rocks, mulch and off brand Cheetos. After a while it died down. The guys I was with the whole time was involved with their own one on ones and then I got involved with one.

A kid came up to me and said he agrees with everything I said, but it was the method of which I was preaching. I asked him to show me in the bible where it was done a different way and he could not.

At this point one of the guys named Ben from (SavedFromWhat.org) in a sarcastic tone started mock rebuking me in front of the Kid.

Marcus...Did you tell this kid he was going to hell?

Yes I replied.

Marcus, did you say he was going to Hell, or that he would if he does not repent and turn to Jesus?

At this point the kid who was worried about me being in trouble took my defense and was defending me.

He said I had to repent.

This is when Ben asked the kid how would you tell someone they sinned against a holy righteous and angry judge and that they were in danger of his wrath?

I don't know?

Ben then said one of the greatest things (besides the Gospel) I have ever heard during the course of a one on one.

"I have this friend, he went up to a lady and told her without knowing her that she was an adulterer...what do you think of my friend"

"I think that he was wrong." he said

"That was what Jesus did in John Chapter 4, with the lady at the well" He took out the bible and read the story.

He was silent from then on. I told him not to listen to me or Ben, but to read the Bible. He agreed the bible was the sources of all authority and said he would listen to "True and False Conversion"

Please pray for him, his name escapes me. Also please pray for our youth. These were some of the most hostile people I have ever seen to the Gospel and they were sober, confessing Christians, and very young. What does this say about that generation and their surrender to the Gospel?

Lights, Camera, Fiction! Behind the Scenes of a "FauxVival"

TV Production and Manipulation at the Revival.

One of my passions is video production and media. Hence the media, movie ministry slogan of Transplant Ministries. I worked at a local TV Station as a production assistant, I do freelance graphic design and video on the side. I know this field.

The following things I am going to mention may seem as conspiracy, or over the top thoughts and thinking, but anyone who works in television knows the immense planning and prep it takes to create a live show. What I am about to show you comes as obvious to me. Because I at one point or the other have been behind the scenes of live broadcasts, I know the before and after and all the ins and outs of pre-production.

What God.TV has done with the cooperation of Fresh Fire Ministries to stage a fake revival is beyond anything I have seen before. It's an elaborate almost scripted live event which ultimately eliminates the need for the Holy Spirit to move or even breathe for that matter.

As you wait in line to enter the tent, a staff member is coordinating the seating. He lines people up. Let's them in and shows them to the entrance of the seating.The first ones to enter are those from other countries. They are asked to come in first.

For the most part people can sit where they want. Unless you are in a wheelchair.

Here is the central issue. If you were creating a faux revival with a goal to show that people were getting healed the one thing you would not want to show on TV is those who are sick and crippled. This would eliminate any sort of credibility. So the goal of the seating arrangement is to place the sick in the back while keeping the happy spirit filled worshipers in the front. Are there any rules that say wheel chairs in the back, on the sides and out of view of the camera? No. Of Course not. But the seating up front is so tight, so restrained that the people in wheelchairs can only sit in three places. This is so the cameras do not show the sick and crippled.

1. On the side.
In this photo you can see a persons wheelchair. There is a clear space for the chair to be and room for others to walk. However notice the position of the Jib. That's the long tall crane with the camera on it. Notice how it is clearly focused where the Wheel Chairs are not.

2. In the back.
In this photo you can see a little boy standing waving a flag. He is located in the "Overflow Tent" which is far out of sight from the cameras. This is the closest place one can sit who needs room for a wheelchair or to lay down on a blanket as this family did. You never see this on GOD.TV

3. The Front Row...Except.

The front row shows the pure deceit and manipulation of the fauxvival as not one regular person is allowed to sit in the front except Fresh Fire Staff and Friends. They have ton's of staff too because the first 4 rows are taken up in the entire front. So no one with a wheel chair can sit there. This is also an example of manipulation because the only shots of people worshiping and glorifying the savior are of...you guessed it Fresh Fire Staff and Friends. (Man, are they always happy!) They do tell you that you can go up front in any empty seats after worship, but when the speaker is speaking there is not as much need for exciting crowd shots.

With the seating for the disabled clearly pushed to the back and the happy employees with smiling faces in front and ready to go. The prep can being. They have people come out and in an almost hypnotizing trance they pray for a good fifteen minutes.

It's a constant screaming and irreverence to the Lord for what seems like forever. over and over and over again the same words are repeated, people are speaking in tongues (without translators) and it's just mass confusion. After the prayer (or before, I forget the order) someone comes up and asks people for testimonies of previous healing. These are healings that are not from the same night. All these testimonies are verified as much as possible before the event and relate to healings of the previous night or week.

What we have is an incredibly detailed and planned event that breeds false excitement and a false sense of a holy spirit's presence. I hope you look over my writing seriously and take it to heart. We must discern everything when teachers claim to be performing miracles of God.

There was nothing Christian at the Todd Bentley Revival, just a whole bunch of confused people who have no idea about proper biblical interpretation. It really is quite disgusting.

and the list goes on. It shall be a good time! So pray for us as we travel and share the Gospel with the Lost. Pray for safety and that we bring the true words of comfort (Biblical Comfort...not Ray)

Getting ready for the Big Show.

7:30, the night before we leave to go see Todd Bentley in Lakeland.

Got stuff I need to pack up, need to make a wal-mart run, but here I am...blogging.

Last night I watched on God-TV two hours of "The Revival" for some reason, Todd never showed. I hope he comes back. It was really sad, the worship leader whose name is Roy Fields gave a very weak explanation of the Gospel, led people to a "Sinners Prayer" and sent them off to be counseled. From what I could tell it was just fake emotion and fake atmosphere leading to fake conversions.

The just of the entire message was God want's you to do cool things like lead worship for the rest of your lives. That's why I became a Christian. So I could be on stage and play guitar.

Please pray for our safety as we travel.

A lot of you may have noticed that we have had a Transplant Ministries Store for a good while. The problem was that it was through CafePress and they were very expensive and there really was no money involved.

So After hours of work, coding and caffeine. I have created an actual Transplant Ministries Store. Everything is custom made by us, from the T-Shirts to the Gospel Tracts, and everything is printed by other Christians. This way instead of buying T-Shirts from a secular store like CafePress, when you buy from us all the money is funneled right back into other ministries. This si important to us as it keeps other Christians involved with ministry.

A Letter to ABC Family.

Dear ABC Family,
Last night I was blessed enough to be able to sit through an entire hour of your new show called "The Secret Life of an American Teenager". It truly is an amazing piece of fiction, one in which your entire crew, including the substandard writers and perfectly stereotyped cast should be extremely proud of!

But really I want to congratulate your staff for the tremendous job of the comedic and accurate portraying of a Christian teenager as a stereotypical bubbly cheerleader who prides herself on her promise ring that her parents bought her. This character has so much depth I don't know where to being this bubbly rebuke!!!

I know! Let's start with the testosterone induced, sex craved jock (who is obviously a false convert) boyfriend of the Christian cheerleader. You nailed it with this one. Every American Christian guy begs his girlfriend for sex! But I honestly felt bad for this guy, I mean look at the church he goes to, a church with a gym that allows for sensual dancing to secular music, intimate conversations all about sex, and no youth pastors in sight. No wonder this poor false convert can think of nothing else! It's a perfect portrayal of the modern American church! You need an Emmy.

I also loved how the male Christian character who again is obviously a false convert (I hope that doesn't spoil any thing in the future episodes, it seems kind of obvious) has no self control ( A fruit of the spirit, thus what told me he was a false convert). Not only that, what really nailed the American Christian teenager role was the fact that he has no idea about scripture! That's perfect! The way he obviously had no idea of Isaiah 59:1 when he begged that promiscuous teenage girl to pray for forgiveness as he screamed ignorantly about God's love.

Ill quote it for you here, but I am sure you knew of this when you wrote it (That's why it's so brillant!)

..But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

It's to a tee. I mean does he know that God will not answer the prayers of the unsaved. No of Course not, he is an American Christian teenager and you knew that! Amazing!!!

So thank you ABC Family! I have set up my Tivo with a season pass as I look forward to your overly angry and aggressive stereotypical portrayal of the Muslim teenagers in future episodes!

Florida Fun, Sun, and Healings.

The plans are in place to travel from Hampton Roads, VA to Lakeland Florida sometime this month for the sole purpose of sharing the Gospel at the Lakeland Revival.

We want is to find some people who are willing to be on camera and film some before and after interviews, as well as followups.

We will be camping on the campgrounds near the revival where many are waiting to be healed.

Todd Bentley the supposed False Prophet in Lakeland, FL has decided that he is going to take 10,000 people into the streets for one day and share the Gospel with people using Law, Sin, Hell Repentance and the Works. He is going to attack the streets, malls, neighborhoods and city centers.

This is greatly Disturbing.

Mainly because it breeds false prophets, and instead of keeping them in their comfort zone of stadiums and book stores, it allows them to spread like a disease.

Could people get saved when they hear the words of Todd Bentley's messengers. Sure. If God can use a piece of paper to save souls, he can use a false prophet. The problem is that there is also a lot of bad that will also be spread. The Name it Claim it Gospel, the Prosperity Gospel, the Healing Gospels. All of which are given more priority thent he True Saving Gospel. This is going to confuse a lot more people then it will save. A Whole Lot more and it's going to be harder for Christians to defend against it, if they use the same techniques.

I am convinced that the Jesus Todd BEntley worships, is not the same Jesus as I worship, this is evident through the visions he has had, the fact that he was saved when a Demon shared the Gospel with him and the fact that he is still demon possed regularly even thogh he is saved.

It's a false God. Pure and Simple.

Is George Carlin resting in peace?

There is no joy in the death of the Lost. There is no hope. There is no peace.

George Carlin was by his own admission one who hated the very idea of God. One who spit on the Ten Commandments and one who utterly despised religion. George Carlin had made his own intelligence and brilliance into his God. He worshiped himself.

Is there a chance that the fear of God struck George Carlin in the last moments of his life? Yea. There is. That's his only hope. If George Carlin did not cry out to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his sins, then George's last breath of air will be used on nothing more then a cry for help as he is escorted into a darkness that makes his trademark black shirts look white. It's a terribly horrifying thought and to be utterly frank...he deserves it and to be even more frank...so do I.

I remember as a child watching Carlin, laughing at his Jokes. I remember trying not to laugh at the blasphemy, knowing it was wrong, knowing it was offensive and because of that I to deserve every bit of darkness as George Carlin does. In no way do I deserve the Grace that was extended to me. When I sit and I think about the jokes he told as he threw his fist up in the air pointing to God, and how I in return laughed with a guilty pleasure I realize that I should be where Carlin is. I participated in the mockery of Jesus who died for me.

Yet I am not going to hell where I deserve and if it was not for the Blood of Jesus Christ, It would be utterly evil of God to not send me there.

It makes you wonder. Where are you going when you die? If God punishes the Joke Giver and the Joke Taker the same exact way are you in danger?

What blasphemy have you told? What Blasphemy have you laughed at? Where will you go if God judged you based on mocking the death of his Son?It's a horrifying thought. Laughing at the death of someone, anyone's son? Mocking a gift that was extended to you, a gift that cost the giver their life. Imagine joking about the one who died and gave you their heart for a transplant and you foolishly mock his personality and then mock his parents while throwing the igloo cooler filled with life in the trash.

We are in mortal danger. If you die without the blood of Christ to forgive your sins God will not let you bypass his justness. He will not let you make a joke of his Son and He will punish you. What are you waiting for? Turn from your sin, repent, hate sin, love your Savior who died for you. Its foolishness not to. God showed his Love so your sins might be forgiven so you might have life, it's the greatest story ever told, better then any comic routine or shtick...

The bible is clear...

John 3:17-21
17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

The Effect of High Gas Prices on The Gospel.

So, the other day I was filling up my small two door oldsmobile and was shocked that it cost forty bucks to fill it up. It's only a 12 Gallon Tank! Being in full time ministry and working on my own you never know where the next dollar is going to come from so the first thought I had was "Is it worth it to go to Virginia Beach every week and share the Gospel"

Virginia Beach is probably the greatest place to do open air in the summer, the boardwalk is thick with people, and the giant hotels echo your voice without much effort...However it's about forty miles from where I live. Normally not a big deal and most of the time we car pool. But it got me thinking.

Maybe the High Gas prices will force people to share the Gospel closer to home...

Would I normally spend a Saturday night sharing the Gospel at our local beach? No not normally, but now it seems to be a very good option. What if the sole purpose of these high Gas prices had nothing to do with economy and drilling, but everything to do with effecting WHERE Christians share the Gospel.

How many people will not be driving long distances for vacation? How many people will be forced to stay home this year?

Maybe God can use this high dollar ball and chain to make us become missionaries in our own neighborhood and city.

After all...Everything...works for His Glory, whether we like it or not.

Wow. I am tired, it has been a very long and rewarding weekend preaching the Gospel all over Virginia.

Recently I have had the honor of seeing a long time friend get into sharing the Gospel with passion. He has been a Christian for a good while, but recently I was able to talk him into going out with us, and getting out of his comfort zone...boy did he ever.

Well once he got the bug we decided to spend the weekend preaching as much as possible, Friday night was his first time sharing the Gospel at Buckroe Beach in Hampton, VA. From there I had some video work for a client in DC, so we drove up there did the video work, and immediately went to go and preach in front of the Capital Building in Washington.

It really is a gorgeous place to preach and the incredible part was the foreigners, how they would stop and listen, probably in awe that we were allowed to preach in the open. Many took pictures, they love Gospel Tracts as well.

Well recently I made a sign with the help of Photoshop using the Ten Commandments. Each word represents one commandment as they are listed in order from 1-10.

The great thing about this is that it is not incredibly clear what the words are from as they are common words like murder, lie, steal, lust. We were worried that it might be "Post Modern" and not be clear enough. We soon found out that it was a benefit as people would just stop and ask what the sign meant. While we were setting up the sign for no other purpose but to take a photo of us in front of the capital (because the place we did open air did not have a good view) people flocked to the sign and we were immediately witnessing on demand. It's eye catching and a great way to share the Gospel. So I want to give it to you for free. So below is a link to where you can download it yourself!

All you need to do is take it to Kinko's and print it out in black and white on the Architect Paper. It costs fifty cents a square foot and the entire thing cost's two bucks. I went to office max and bought some foam board and cut it to size to make it sturdy. The size is 24"x24"

Enjoy and use it to share the Gospel.

Bill Maher -- Religulous...This is Ridiculous!

I don't know if any of you have heard of Bill Maher, he is a late night vulgar comic (Who doesn't write his own material and was kicked off of ABC) and makes a living from being most offensive. That's his brand of comedy really. Who can I insult that others will not? To him abortion is funny and religion is well more funny. Bill Maher is an Atheist and a not very funny one at that.

So in what has to be a direct response to Ben Stein's "Expelled" Bill Maher is creating a movie called Religulous, or as I like to call "The How Much Blasphemy Can We Place in One Movie, Movie".

If you can stomach threw the blasphemy in the trailer, you can see he interviews stereotypes and casts serious oversimplifications to proclaim the Gospel of Atheism. Even comparing our belief in a Divine Creator to that of Santa Clause because "Millions believe doesn't make it true."

So here is a challenge to Bill Maher, I dare you to interview a true apologist, Ravi Zacharias comes to mind. Be bold in your convictions. Stand strong in your faith. Anyone can cast people to interview to get a desired result (I used to work at a propaganda TV station, I know how it is done) but it takes true gut's to challenge it.

And besides You VS Ravi might actually be funny...for once.

I think I am going to be on the Todd Bentley kick a while, so if your sick of him already you might want to come back in a month or two.

Here is a very interesting video that can only be made with the YouTube generation. Notice that Todd is "Healing People" and people are falling to the floor do to the power of that.

(Remember that most people got up and walked when they were healed by Jesus, none fell to the floor)

Anyway's that minor doctrinal scuffle aside we see this video. Pay very close attention to the people con the botom right hand corner, laughing and carrying on. The One girl is coughing (So much for healing...)
